Not every tree stands conveniently beside a wide driveway.       Spider crane<\/h3>\n

      For very large trees or situations where the trunk sections are too heavy to lower by hand, we deploy a spider crane<\/strong> \u2014 a compact, tracked crane that can:<\/p>\n

      • Fit through passages as narrow as 80 cm<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      • Traverse soft ground, gravel and slopes with rubber tracks.<\/li>\n
      • Lift several tonnes, enabling swift removal of heavy trunk sections.<\/li>\n
      • Set up in confined spaces where a conventional crane would never fit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Manual extraction<\/h3>\n

        In the tightest situations, branchwood and trunk sections are cut into manageable pieces and carried out by hand. This is labour-intensive but sometimes the only option \u2014 and our team is equipped for it.<\/p>\n

        Helicopter extraction<\/h3>\n

        In extreme cases \u2014 trees on inaccessible hillsides, island locations or above critical infrastructure \u2014 helicopter extraction is available. Plumridge coordinates with specialist aviation operators for these rare but sometimes necessary operations.<\/p>\n

        Handling the green waste<\/h2>\n

        Difficult access affects not just the felling but also the removal of timber and branchwood:<\/p>\n

          Stump grinding in difficult-access locations requires a narrow-access stump grinder<\/strong> \u2014 a machine slim enough to fit through a garden gate (as narrow as 70 cm). Plumridge has this equipment available. Where even this is not feasible, we can treat the stump chemically to prevent regrowth.<\/p>\n

          Regulations and permits<\/h2>\n

          The same regulations apply regardless of access difficulty:<\/p>\n

          • Brussels-Capital Region<\/strong>: planning permission for standard trees (circumference > 40 cm at 1.50 m).<\/li>\n
          • Walloon Region (CoDT)<\/strong>: permits may be required depending on the classification of the land.<\/li>\n
          • Nesting period restriction<\/strong>: 1 April \u2013 15 August.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Difficult access does not exempt you from obtaining a permit. However, if the tree poses an immediate danger, emergency provisions allow removal without prior authorisation.<\/p>\n
